I lived on the SP mainline in Burbank. I saw a lot o daily SP action. Class A-6 4--4-2's; Ten Wheelers, Consolidations, Mountains, GS class engines and the ten coupled F class What a show!.

I honestly wish we would have preserved one of these p14 class Pacifics if we were to build another steam engine from the rails up this would be the engine I would choose because it deserves a place in our Texas Railroad Heritage let alone to be displayed at the Houston Union station Railroad Museum

When brits can rebuild they own steam train, and T-trust is rebuilding PRR T1, why cant we build Blue Goose? We still have Santa Fe Hudson 4-6-4 No. 3463, so we could use it to rebuild Blue Goose

I think every major class one railroad should start a steam heritage program besides Union Pacific if they could do that they could build steam locomotes from the ground up just like the good old days bring back some famous trains like the Santa Fe blue goose The southern Pacific Sunbeam the Texas special the Broadway limited and the New York Central to name a few

To those that're complaining about the photos being outta focus and grainy, I wanna tell ya something: *Grab a straw and suck it up buttercup.* Grainy, outta focus photos are better then no photos.

Great historical black & white photos of the Southern Pacific AC9 2-8-8-4 steam locomotives. My favorite Southern Pacific steam locomotives are the GS class 4-8-4’s in Daylight colors & the AC12 cab forward 2-8-8-4 steam locomotives. I have a Kato Southern Pacific 10 car Morning Daylight in N scale & the GS4 4-8-4 in Daylight colors number 4449 that will be my excursion train when I star running it.

there where only two gs 5 made number 4458 and 4459 they look similar to a gs-4 but the only difference is the roller bearing which gave them a smoother run
